this is what's up
Many new members joined <Dawn> so i decided to write a few words so they don't get confused.
This is how a day of a good <Dawn> raider looks like:
1. The best raider's raid begins the day before, when he applies for the raid. To do this, you need the GroupCalendar addon (and keep it updated) Apply as early as you can, the latest possible being one hour before the raiding time, that means 18 00. If you manage to do this and you are chosen for the raid, you have a good chance to get a +1 dkp for attending (you get it if you stay untill the end of official raiding time, that's 23 00, or earlier if the raid ends early for some reason like ganking all the bosses planned)
The worst thing you can do is to apply for the raid and not show up. This will be penalized (-dkp).
1.5 You are required to be on vent during the raid. All the data needed is in the guild info ingame. Although you are not encouraged to talk too much (lol), sometimes it is pretty useful (like watertombed tank healer or throwing a core) and this is when a microphone comes in very handy. Good raiders spend that 5 euros and buy one.
On the other hand, too much noise on vent is not very good. Teri speaking, main tank or other key characters are quite enough in a boss fight. Sometimes vent just can't cope with 10 ppl talking at the same time. Pls be tactful. Extensive swearing will be penalized!!! We are civilized ppl, not animals!
2. You want to help the guild's progress by maximizing your preformance. This means that your gear is properly gemmed and enchanted and you use consumables. Your gear will be checked by designated members (big brothers/sisters) on every raid, as well as your consumables. at least two consumables are required on boss fights it t5 content instances. for example casters can use oil and flask (food welcome ofc). Passing these requirements is the easiest way to get +1 dkp for readiness after every raid.
Every one needs to have read or watched some tactic on the bosses we are raiding. It is a huge waste of time explaining the tac all over again.
3. As a good raider, you generally don't need to pee, eat or smoke too often during the raids Extensive afk-ing, rude behaviour and other obvious stuff can be penalized (-dkp) But hey!, this is obvious isn't it? we are people interacting with each other, so we know the rules
4. There can be other reasons for getting some extra dkp. Downing new bosses, wiping on new bosses with a smile on our faces, flawless runs, no wipes etc. You can get some extra dkp if you are willing to stay after the official raiding time is over (after 23 00)
5. The best raiders don't care about the loot at all, but we all know that loot happens sometimes, that's why we established this dkp system. The ways of getting/losing them was described above. You will see your dkp status in public note. When there's a loot you want, you can get a priority, if you have at least 10 dkp more than the person you are rolling agains. If the difference is less than 10 points, you simply roll. the difference between your dkp will be added to your roll.
Anytime you get a priority, you lose half of your dkp.
You can use dkp only in t5 content instances and above. In Kara, ZA, Gruul, Maggy or Hogger, we use rolls and disussion.
ONLY Teri has the right to suggest a different solution of loot distribution and start some discussion. (no one else)
ok guys and gals, welcome aboard and have fun here!

Re: this is what's up
Very nice explained moonraven.
I hope we're able to take care of our recruits and I hope that they understand that it's not possible to make everybody happy at the same time. Especially when we got so many new ppl in guild.
If some of the new members still have questions after this excellent post, feel free to /w some of the older members. Might suggest that /w Teri all the time isn't the best way of getting answers since he already got a lot of /w to deal with as gm and during raids it might be just as well to use /p and ask someone in your raid party rather than /w raid leader or spam raid chat with lots of questions not concering the raid in general.
Other than that I feel optimistic on the guilds behalf (I always did except my 10 hours of worry)

Re: this is what's up
I have a feeling that some ppl still don't understand the loot system in <Dawn>. so lemme explain
You are awarded dkp for every raid, based on many criteria, described above (applying before 18 00, coming on time, staying for the whole duration, staying even more, having gear properly gemmed/enchanted, having enough consumables, preforming well, downing new bosses etc)
When there is a loot that is needed by more ppl for their main spec, we use this system:
If the difference between the amount of dkp of these 2 pesrons is more than 10, the person with more dkp gets it.
Example: [Pie] dropped.
Both Moonraven and Teri want [Pie]
Moonraven has 20 dkp, Teri has 35 dkp
Teri gets [Pie]
If the difference in the amount of dkp is less than 10 points, the persons that need the item roll. The difference between the amount of dkp will be added to the roll of the person who has more dkp.
Example: [Pie] dropped.
Both Andrei and Terranova want [Pie]
Andrei has 20 dkp, Terranova has 25 dkp
They roll, +5 is added to Terranova's roll
Andrei rolls 50, terranova rolls 47 (+5 is added)
Terranova gets [Pie]
When you get an item, 50% of your dkp is lost.
A lower amount of dkp is deducted for offspec.
we don't use dkp in t4 content instances.
hope it's all clear now.
